I live in Woodinville with my husband, Mark and two children, Lucas and Katie. I have enjoyed drawing and painting my whole life. I have always been especially interested in watercolor.
I studied architecture in college but ended up working in a non-art related field. As my time opened up a bit, I decided to go back and pursue my interest in art and began taking classes in watercolor with some of the local masters. I have studied with both Kay Barnes and Elizabeth Kincaid. I am currently enrolled in on-going studio classes with Elizabeth.
My family and I love to travel and I get much of my inspiration from images we see on our adventures. I also love color and the potential that watercolor gives you to create luminous layers within your subjects. The subjects I find especially intriguing are those that require a degree of “tightness” in the composition but can be so beautifully illuminated using the loose medium of watercolor.
