Artist - Diane Korf
I love to paint, sometimes feel driven to it. There is nothing to match the ‘intuneness’ with myself I feel when a painting is flowing. For me it is a way of truly being present in the moment as often, only a child can. It is my peace.
My interests, artistic and otherwise, lie in nature and human nature. My paintings tend toward a more simplistic or stylized representation. I explore stark color contrasts and the simple beauty in nature, not so simple in the real world. I enjoy portraiture, figure studies in non-traditional techniques and media, collage work and am just venturing abstract expression. Blues and bright colors are prominent but not guaranteed. My materials may include cloth, latex paint, digital photography, recycled materials, chalk, ink, pastels, , various gel mediums, printed-media collage, watercolors, leaves, cut paper, linoleum, other discarded objects and most often, acrylic paints.
Honestly, I paint just to paint. If I had to expand on that intention, it would be to become fluent in the portrayal and extraction of human emotion through color, composition and technique.
