Artist - Winston Rockwell
I prefer natural subjects for my work – landscapes, seascapes, plants and wildlife. I strive to capture the beauty and variety of nature in images that encourage an emotional response to the world around us, whether it’s the tranquility of a gentle stream, the awe-inspiring grandeur of a majestic vista, or simply a renewed appreciation for the beauty of an everyday object.
I do all my own post-processing, and generally make only minor adjustments to my images. I want my photographs to look as natural as possible – after all, my goal is to share the beauty of nature, not show off my Photoshop skills! All printing is done by professional labs using top-quality materials to provide you with prints that will remain sharp and vibrant for many years to come, and I personally hand select archive-quality, acid-free mats and frames that complement my images, to produce a finished work of art you’ll be proud to display in your home or office.
About me:
I have been involved in amateur and semi-professional photography on and off since the 1980’s when I bought my first 35mm SLR. I shot some SCCA rallies and air shows, had a photo published on the cover of a Northwest buyer’s guide, and did some freelance work for a white-water rafting company in Chilliwack, B.C., Canada. In 2004, I joined the digital revolution, and now use Canon DSLRs and top-grade lenses for my work. I am a lifelong resident of the Pacific Northwest, and currently live near Seattle, in the heart of the Puget Sound region.
