Artist - Cameron Kim

A native of Reno, Nevada, Cameron C. Kim was the recipient of the National Penn Women’s Art scholarship in 1997 and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Art History (concentration in museum studies) with a minor in Visual Arts from the University of Nevada Reno.

Growing up in the Nevada desert shaped the vivid imagination of this artist from a very young age.  The baron yet simplistic beauty of the desert landscape and skies combined with the excessive man made glitz of casinos, the dramatic beauty of show girls, and the extravagant lifestyles of her hometown’s inhabitants and visitors alike impacted Cameron’s ideas of beauty.  She often gathers inspiration from her Asian heritage, her fascination of the organic flow of the Art Nouveau movement, the subtle futuristic aspects of Art Decco era, vintage pinups from the past, as well as the idealistic beauty of the heroic women found in her vast comic book collection.  Working mainly in oils, and often a mixture of gouache, and acrylic paints, Cameron’s paintings evoke human emotions by inviting viewers into a rich color saturated world of exotic and imaginative landscapes often combined with sensual female forms masked in mystery.

Cameron works and resides in the Seattle area creating and teaching fine art and sharing her passion for creativity and continues to participate in solo and group shows throughout the Pacific Northwest and Northern Nevada.
