Artist - Kent Hricziscse
Born in a small Southern Oregon community just a stone’s throw from the Northern California border, Kent found himself intrigued by the arts at a very young age. A large portion of his time was spent filling sketch pads with his thoughts and observations in the form of drawings. Soon to come would be sculpting and canvas renderings, followed by formal training in both the visual arts, and music.
The music bug bit hard during his school years, where Kent excelled as a featured multi-instrumentalist.
With many offers to turn professional, Kent would eventually forfeit the continuation of schooling for the lure of the entertainment industry and all its exciting possibilities. He would tour and record as a professional musician for the next two decades, playing a supporting role in the early years, and fronting his own shows later on. During this time, Kent would be heavily involved in the artwork and graphics used for his promotion in music. Film photography was also high on his list of creative expression.
Having performed many shows in the Seattle area, Kent knew that he would someday settle in the Pacific Northwest due to the overwhelming beauty, warm people, and support of the arts. His wish would come true in the early 1990’s when he settled in a Northern Seattle community with his wife and soon thereafter, new baby girl. Kent would continue in music as a personal instructor and studio musician, all the while honing his skills as a photographic editor and photographer in this new and exciting digital age.
After more years of photographic study, Kent would eventually adopt his second career (of which he jokingly refers to as his “mid life crisis” career) with the founding of “Red Diamond Visions”, a photographic service specializing in artistic photography.
Kent’s mastery of the digital darkroom and uncompromised eye for photography, now produces some of the most innovative and compelling photographic art available today. He refers to his style as “painting with pictures”. This technique requires painstaking hours of photographic manipulation, by means of digital compositing and painting (working with a single pixel at a time, in many cases).
His original pieces are both thoughtful, and thought provoking. The more you look, the more you see.
